Fletcher Friday Report: September 18, 2026

The Fed raised rates this week. So what did Fletcher do about it? Let's dig in.

Welcome to another Fletcher Friday Report! Every Friday, we check in on how Fletcher is performing compared to the S&P 500 index. On the surface it looked like a quiet week… but was it really? Let's find out.

The Fed Makes a Move

On Wednesday, the Fed raised interest rates. So what does that mean for you and me?

Personally, I'm feeling the rate increase most on the commercial real estate I'm currently trying to sell. The stock market reacted too, just not quite the way I expected. On the day of the announcement, the market paused to catch its breath for about an hour, then took right back off to the north.

In the end, it turned out to be a good week, both for Fletcher and for the rest of my portfolio. I'm curious to see how things unfold as we move deeper into what folks like to call the "September slump." So far, it hasn't felt much like a slump to me.

Let's Talk Numbers

With that out of the way, let's get to the good stuff. As I mentioned, September has been kind to Fletcher so far, and this week didn't disappoint.

We've had live data for Fletcher since January. Right now, the portfolio holds five positions, a mix of tech (software, hardware, and semiconductors) and pharma.

Here's what that looks like in real dollars: $10,000 put into Fletcher in January of this year would now be worth $28,300. That's been a nice run!

Zooming out to a six-month window, Fletcher is up about 32%, and that's even with July taking a big bite out of performance.

This Week and Beyond

  • This week: Fletcher grew 5%, while the S&P was basically flat.
  • Since September 1st (our last signal): Fletcher is up 16%, while the S&P is up less than 1%.
  • Year to date: Fletcher is up 183%, while the S&P is up around 12%.

Where's the Slump?

We're already halfway through September, and I'm just not seeing the slump everyone likes to talk about. Of course, there are still two weeks to go, so who knows? Let's leave it at that for now.

Thanks for reading! I'll be back next Friday with another look at Fletcher's performance. Have a great week!
